A mother cat and 7 kittens wandered to our doorstep last week. Two days later two of the kittens reappeared on their own. With no sign of the mama cat after a day we fed and watered the kittens. After no luck with signs in the neighborhood we found a pet store that agreed to take the kittens for adoption.

The pet store just called as the kittens have a weak positive for feline hiv. Kittens can sero-convert (not test positive) at 4 mos. if it was the mother's milk that is causing the positive.

They won't keep them and suggested I put them back outside.

If you know of anyone who doesn't have other cats or is willing to take in these two yellow tabbies (about 8 weeks), please contact Petland in Dunwoody.

Cats in the Cradle took both kittens and will have them retested in 4 mos. They will be adopted out either way and receive full medical care thanks to Cats in the Cradle/PetsMart/Banfield Veterinary Services.

This is a quick and filling wrap that can be made easily with either store bought or home made hummus and tabbouleh.

I find that two wraps make a satisfying dinner.

They are also really god as part of a middle eastern/mediterranean flavored platter- grape leaves, bulgur, yogurt on the side, etc.

Without those trimmings, they are completely vegan.

Ingredients (For one wrap):

1 large whole wheat pita
1 heaping tablespoon hummus, any flavor
1 heaping tablespoon tabbuleh salad
1 handful of sprouted beans ( I have tried and liked both sprouted mung and sprouted lentils)

Instructions:
-Spread the hummus in a thin layer over the pita
-Top with tabbouleh, spreading it out well
-Add the sprouts
-Fold to eat! =)

I've been offered a solo show. But I have to do everything myself.
  • On the one hand: what an opportunity.
  • On the other hand: I'm overwhelmed (read: terrified).

We have more that enough green bean casserole from Thanksgiving than we can consume before it goes bad. One dish is cooked, which we will eat as left overs, but we have an entire second casserole's worth (9x9 pan) that has not been cooked yet and we haven't put the onions on top (its just beans, mushroom soup, onions mixed in, etc).

My question is, can we freeze the uncooked batch fairly successfully? I can put it in a ziplock or better container than the casserole dish. I don't want to throw it away, and we'd definitely eat it in a few weeks.

I am joining some friends this weekend in southern arizona for part of a hiking/canyoneering trip. Dinner for 5 (4 of which are non-veg) is my responsibility Saturday night at the casita we are staying in. Any ideas on a simple yet satisfying meal to make?

Originally I was planning pasta with pesto, french bread & salad... but then I found out that they are cooking pasta the night before so I would like to do something different. Tacos? Sandwiches of some kind? What is easy, fun and likable by all?

I have never cooked for a group of non-veggies... it makes me nervous!!! :)

Thanks in advance for your ideas!!

I'm trying to locate anyplace that can rent a fiber-fill insulation blower (like one of these) but also be able to deliver and pick up - Home Depot and Lowes rent them but we'd also have to rent a truck to transport it if we got it from them. Any pointers?

tomorrow walmart has a cricut expression on sale for $188 - i can't tell if it's the same as the Cricut Expression 24-Inch Personal Electronic Cutting Machine that is $279 that i've had my eye on for about 2 years now. Anyone know if there's a difference?

I have a little sister... therefore I found out today that Adam Lambert sings a version of "Soaked" on his new album. Matt sold the rights to him for a cover.

MUSE version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vknKjvcwfSg
Lambert version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2vT71YBlek

I can understand why it didn't make 'The Resistance' - imo it's like a boring version of USoE.
