I listened to Check Your Head going to work today.
For some reason I've been thinking about the Beasties alot recently.
I don't know how I completely forgot what a masterpiece this CD is.
As soon as I heard the first notes of Jimmy James it all came back.
1991-1995.
Just the way the songs flow into each other and all the layering of noise and the lyrics, my god the lyrics.
I would say this album is the single most influential album of my entire life.
Followed closely behind is Madonna's Like a Virgin.
Man, when Pass the Mic came on it was like an old comfortable sweatshirt had warmed my body.

2 Things:

First, I have finally reached that coveted place where I LOVE to do cardio at the gym!! I had to actually tear myself away from the treadmill today. AND these blueberries are fucking delicious! Way better than those Hostess Cupcakes that reside 6 feet away from me on the snack cart that has taken all my willpower to resist these last 7 weeks.

Secondly, when i was at the gym channel surfing the Beastie Boys were on Charlie Rose!!!! I think I audibly giggled. At first Mike D was hogging up all the air-time but then Yauch stepped in and again I audibly giggled. OMFG I wish LJ had been around in the early-mid 90s cause I really wish I had better record of my obsession of all obsessions with the Beasties. I truly dreamed about them at night AND during the day. 24 hours a day. DAMN.
