WOW, it’s been awhile since i wrote anything!
Don’t know what i was thinking last night but i turned on the local news and they were doing their top story about the gas price spike. Because really, that’s the most important thing right now in our lives. Fuck New Orleans under water, fuck people still dying all over the world from hunger and water-borne diseases, fuck the soldiers fighting a non-winnable war. I have to pay over $3 a gallon to fill my SUV! (sarcasm, right)
OK, whatever.
So, what got me mad enough to yell at the TV and turn it off was a lady being interviewed who says “if the gas prices keep rising I may have to start riding my bike to work - and I really don’t live too far from where I work.”
THEN DO IT BITCH!
I guess my opinion is a little swayed cause I’ve rode my bike to work EVERY day now for 9 days in a row to work and I LOVE IT! I’m addicted to waking up on my bike in the morning and decompressing after work on the ride home. So for someone to think that biking is a last resort can kiss my pimply ass.
Phew, /rant.
So, over the weekend me and 2 of my bestest girlfriends had our “bitches only” weekend and it’s really impossible to describe with words how wonderful it was. We went to a spa in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and the highlight wasn’t actually getting the massages or facials or seaweed wraps or even the Reiki/Reflexology treatment - but it was at a bed and breakfast/new age place in the middle of nowehere and it was run by 2 women who lived there and it was so homey and liberating and exhiliarating cause for 24 hours it was only “us girls” - no cell phones, no emall, no current events, but deer and hummingbirds in the backyard, siting around in bathrobes or even half naked and indulging in hot fudge sundaes talking mostly bullshit, but relaxed. See, impossible to articulatly explain. But it was really special. I didn’t realize how much I missed just girl time. Must take care of that in the future.
